The 1970s represent a transitional period in George Miyasaki’s prolific career. Breaking out of his early gestural abstraction in favor of more experimental compositions that combined Pop influences and hard-edged geometric abstraction, his 1979 painting Beyond the Edge (Blue Corner) and early-70s Ripple prints exemplify this moment in his œuvre.
